“The new housing trends and the residential market in Milan. Analysis of demand and of newly-built initiatives in the city”
The third edition of the Study Centre’s survey examines the offer of newly-built or completely renovated houses in Milan. More specifically, these houses total about 4,000 units, with about 300 new entries every year and sales involving about 600 units per year, one third of which put up for sale over the last 12 months. Furthermore, the new initiatives are also indicative of the new housing trends. From the dedicated analysis, it emerges that some spaces are becoming more central and acquiring new functions – the bathroom and the kitchen, traditionally considered service spaces, are being redefined as “bathing room” and “new hearth” of the house, respectively – while other spaces are becoming increasingly smaller or even disappearing.
